Tessa Russ (she/they) is a Brooklyn, NY based movement artist. They received their BFA in Dance and a Minor in Business Management from the University of MN, Twin Cities. During their time in Minneapolis, Tessa performed with Black Label Movement, Hatch Dance, HoneyWorks, BRKFST Dance, and Corpus Callosum. Since relocating to New York City, they have enjoyed collaborating with peers - performing at THAT SHOW, the Craft, and Modern Moves. In addition, Tessa has worked with Zvi Dance, Verbal Animal, and cat.astrophe! led by Cat Cogliandro; their interdisciplinary interests have led them to collaborate with fashion designers such as Peter Do, and perform in Gallery Openings by Samuel Schler. Tessa strives to develop characterized experience through visceral movement in a way that is relatable to audience members, exhibiting humanity at its innermost level.
